Expressive Arts Therapies

The Expressive Arts combine the visual arts, movement, drama, music, writing, dreamwork and other creative processes to foster deep personal growth and community development.

Expressive Arts Therapies are used with children, adolescents, adults and elderly to explore emotions, improve self-esteem, relieve stress, enhance resilience. There is no need for artistic knowledge on the part of the client because the process does not concern the artistic value of the work, but rather the search for the meaning behind the creative choices and its relevance with the inner life of the person. The purpose of creation is to improve emotional awareness, regulation, expression, reflection and transformation.

ReCrea’s Expressive Arts Therapist has trained in a range of creative art modalities by undergoing a four-year approved program, supervised clinical work and personal psychotherapy.
